WISHING WELL POEM 1 - HONEYMOON WELL

As we are blessed with material things
And all that living together brings
What we would really like for our special day
Is to top off our wedding with a holiday
To go somewhere grand we couldn't afford
A place that's lavish and full of reward

A tradition as old as the wedding bell
Is to make a wish into a well
A box will be there on the day
To offer a blessing and send us on our way
Any donation would be great
But only if you wish to participate.

TREASURE CHEST POEM (ALREADY HAVE KIDS)

We have done things round the other way
A house and a family before this day
We have the things that set up a place
And we are starting to run short of space

Therefore the gift that we would love best
Is a donation for our Treasure Chest
Some money to buy the little things
To put towards the photos and wedding rings

Please don't feel obligated;
It's all up to you
It would also be just as lovely
To have something new

We couldn't think of many presents
To fill a store gift list
As we have been filling our home with things
From the day that we first kissed

We think a Wishing Well will be fun
If you wanted to take part
To send us on a honeymoon
And get things off to a perfect start

If we can't think of things we need
Then hard it is to buy
So we thought we would make it easier
When your gift idea's run dry

A wishing well will be on hand
For you to place your card
And make a difficult gift choice
Suddenly seem less hard

Don't get us wrong, we love unwrapping
If a present you can find
So if you don't want to participate
We really do not mind

So make a wish into the well
And hope your dreams come true
The kindness that you have given us
Will come right back to you

We've been together for a while
And joined all our possessions
Now we have twice what we require
In wants, needs and obsessions

More gifts would be great
But the thing that we'd like most
Is a donation for our wishing well
For the things more grandiose

So make a wish into the well
And hope your dreams come true
The kindness that you have given us
Will come right back to you

The planning has begun
A little bubs is on the way
They have many of the smaller things
That gets a new mum through the day

There are however several things
These new parents still do lack
What's missing are the bigger things
The ones that set you back

A donation to their wishing well
Is a great way to shower gifts
To give them all the tools they need
For nappies and night shifts

Please don't feel obliged,
It's all up to you
Because equally as lovely
Surprises would be too

Was wow they will need double
Of all of the helpful things

Two prams, carseats and cots
The lists are getting large
And while blessed to be expecting twins
The credit cards will charge

As they begin their life as parents
To beautiful baby twins
